Well. America, the beautiful, is in the midst of a struggle. Today we celebrate that struggle. Went to the MoMA today and saw Frank Lloyd Wright exhibition. It made me think about three things. 1. Ornament and it's place in construction and the ornamental quality of nature. 2. Taproot skyscrapers and tiny farms. 3. The idea of natural, naturalized, and invasive species of plants in landscaping - and the analogy this plays in human immigration to new landscapes. I also saw a Rothko I love, reminded me of the emotional qualities of color. Thinking back on Storm King, I wonder what color I will paint the steel for the deck.
